Wintergreen grows as a dwarf shrub no taller than 15 cm in the Himalaya region and in North America. A strong oil with a fresh note is steam distilled from the leaves of the plant. The indigenous people of America, as well as TCM, use it to soothe muscle and joint complaints and to cool heat conditions. Just a few drops provide warmth and relieve tension.
